Job Summary

We are seeking observant, highly professional individuals for our Asset Protection team. As an entry-level Loss Prevention Associate, you will conduct floor surveillance, audit operational compliance, and assist in identifying both internal and external theft. You will serve as the guardian of our assets, delivering the signature safety that sets Wegmans apart in the grocery retail industry. This role requires a calm demeanor, strict adherence to legal and corporate policies, and excellent communication skills.

Comprehensive Responsibilities

• Floor Surveillance: Conduct plain-clothes floor walks, visually monitoring high-theft zones (e.g., cosmetics, health and beauty, expensive meats) and acting as a visual deterrent.
• CCTV Operations: Monitor live camera feeds from the security office, tracking suspicious behavior and archiving footage for potential law enforcement investigations.
• Operational Auditing: Support the operations team by conducting routine checks on electronic article surveillance (EAS) tags, receiving dock logs, and register void transactions.
• Incident Reporting: Write detailed, legally compliant incident reports following any security events, ensuring all documentation is accurate and objective.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age upon application.

• Prior experience in retail loss prevention, asset protection, or security is preferred but not required—we provide rigorous legal training.
• Strong situational awareness, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm and objective in high-stress scenarios.
