Yard & Dock Jobs — Open Positions

A yard jockey (also called a yard marshal or hostler) moves trailers between dock doors, parking spots and staging areas at a retailer's distribution center using a yard truck (spotter or terminal tractor). Dock roles load and unload freight.

Retail yard jockeys earn roughly $20–$28/hr on average, with shift differentials for nights and weekends. A CDL is often required for yard-truck roles.

Many yard-truck positions require a CDL (Class A, sometimes Class B), while dock and freight-handling roles usually do not. Requirements vary by facility — check each listing, and expect a driving-record and drug screening for driving roles.
